Darcy Kray, President

Darcy is a graduate of the British Columbia Institute of Technology and has been in the construction industry since 1972 and a partner with Durwest since 1983.   As president of Durwest, Darcy takes an active role in research and development of new projects, development and supervision of performance and quality control standards and project design/consultation. Darcy excels in his analytical approach to problem solving and in his ability to effectively manage people and attend to detail.  Personally responsible for all Durwest projects, Darcy's project management experience includes the Air Terminal Building Expansion at Victoria International Airport, Commonwealth Pool, Athlete's Village at the University of Victoria, the Sidney Pier, and the Victoria Conservatory of Music.


Carl Novak, Vice-President

Carl is a graduate of the British Columbia Institute of Technology and has been in the construction industry since 1976 and directly involved in the management of Durwest since 1989. Actively involved in the daily operations of the company, Carl excels at preparation of complex master budgets and schedules during the conceptual and design stage; overseeing construction managers and superintendents during the construction stage; and managing all aspects of tendering and administration of Durwest projects.  As the senior construction manager in the company, Carl has managed such projects as the Crown Isle Clubhouse in Comox, the North Island College Campuses in Comox and Port Alberni, the G.R. Pearkes, Oak Bay and Esquimalt Recreation Centres and Bermuda National Sports Centre Grandstand in Bermuda.
